This issue has been resolved - starting with the release version 0.1.9, the userdata folder resides in the user's 'Documents' folder where standard users can write anything anytime in any way
(original post)
The reason is probably the UAC (User Account Control) that's blocking write access to that folder, since this folder is in the Program Files folder group which require an administrator privilege to modify.
You might run into this problem if you're using Windows 7 or later with a non-administrator account.
You can resolve this by these steps:
1. Go to the folder the program is installed in:
32-bit OS:
C:\Program Files\BeepComp
64-bit OS:
C:\Program Files(x86)\BeepComp
You can copy and paste one of the above paths in the search box.
You can also go this way:
Start > Computer > C: drive > Program Files (with (x86) if 64-bit) > BeepComp
2. Right-click on the file named beepcomp.exe (should show up as an icon image)
3. Select Properties, then open the tab named 'Compatibility'
4. Check the box that says 'Run this program as an administrator'.
5. Press Apply, then close the dialog.
Please note that after you're done with this setting, your machine will ask you in a pop-up for an Administrator permission every time you run the program. If you'd like to turn this pop-up off, you can follow the instructions at this link:
www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-user-account-control-uac-the-easy-way-on-windows-vista/
Alternatively, you can install and use BeepComp on an administrator account - you will not have to deal with UAC altogether this way.
I hope this resolves the issue with exporting you might be having...
If the problem persists, please let me know!
I realize that I should really design the file dialogs better so that accessing the regular places like Desktop and Documents folder will be easier.
That surely is on my to-do list, but for now... thank you for your patience
